Susan Bostick, M.D. -Medical Oncologist
Dr. Bostick joined our provider team in 2011 from University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Primarily, Dr. Bostick practices at the Tuscaloosa location but also serves in our Fayette County clinic.
Dr. Bostick has her State of Alabama Medical License (M.D.), State of Mississippi Medical License (M.D.), American Board of Internal medicine (Medical Oncology), and American Board of Internal Medicine (Internal Medicine.) She completed both her Fellowship in hematology & Medical Oncology and her Residency in Internal medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Physics from the University of Mississippi in oxford, Mississippi. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University Of Mississippi School Of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Tuscaloosa County medical Society, the American College of Physicians, and the Medical Association, State of Alabama.
Steve Copeland, M.D. –Hospitalist
Dr. Copeland joined our provider team in 2012 caring for our in-patient service. A Tuscaloosa native, Dr. Copeland has served for several groups, including an Assistant Professorship with Capstone Health Services, as an internist finding his true passion in internal medicine for oncology and hematology patients.
Dr. Copeland has his State of Alabama medical License (M.D.) and American Board of Internal medicine (Internal Medicine.) He obtained his Bachelor of Arts, Biology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University Of South Alabama College Of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama. He completed his Residency in Internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
John Crew, M.D. -Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Crew joined our provider team 2013 out of his residency at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Louisville, Kentucky. As our newest Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Crew has piloted several new treatment programs in radiosurgery.
Dr. Crew has his State of Alabama Medical License (M.D.) and American Board of Radiology (Radiation Oncology. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Birmingham Southern College. He gained his Certificate of Rural Health from the University of Alabama. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School Of medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his Internship in Transitional Medicine from NorthShore University Health System-McGraw Medical Center, Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He completed his Residency in Radiation Oncology at James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He is a member of the American Society from Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiology, Tuscaloosa County Medical Society and Medical Association, State of Alabama.
James Evans, M.D. -Medical Oncologist
Dr. James Evans joined our team in 2018. He is a Tennessee native and graduate of University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. His residency was at Wake Forest Baptist Health and he completed his training with a fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in hematology and oncology.
As the newest physician at Manderson Cancer Center, Dr. Evans has utilized his experience and drive to quickly build his practice. His specialization in oncology and hematology has made him an asset to the DCH community.
Dr. Evans is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology Subspecialty Board and Hematology Subspecialty Board. Dr. Evan’s resides in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and enjoys life with his wife and two sons.
David Hinton, M.D., F.A.C.P -Medical Oncologist
Dr. Hinton is the senior member of our cancer care team. He joined in 1989 (and subsequently founded) Oncology Associates of West Alabama.
Dr. Hinton obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Al. He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. He completed both his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Hematology & Medical Oncology at University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham, AL. He has his State of Alabama Medical License (M.D.), American Board of Internal medicine (Medical Oncology) and American Board of Internal Medicine (Internal Medicine.) He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Tuscaloosa County Medical Society, American College of Physicians, Southern Association of Oncology and Medical Association, State of Alabama.
Pamela Hughes, M.D., FACP-Medical Oncologist
Dr. Pamela Hughes is an established and highly skilled physician with over 25 years of experience in oncology and hematology. Dr. Hughes was born in Montgomery, Alabama and is a graduate of Auburn University. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1986. She completed an internship and her residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch. While in Texas, she completed her fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in hematology/medical oncology. She was also a Hematology Fellow at the Baylor College of Medicine, which was inclusive with the M.D. Anderson program.
Dr. Hughes is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Tuscaloosa County Medical Society, West Alabama Medical Specialist, and Medical Association, State of Alabama. She has been awarded with the American Cancer Society Clinical Fellowship Award 1992, and American College of Physicians, Fellow, Elected April 2000.
J. Curtis Tucker, M.D. -Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Tucker joined our provider team in 1998 and has served as Radiation Oncology Director since 2012. Dr. Tucker is a Veteran of the United States Navy, Lieutenant in the Medical Corps.
Dr. Tucker obtained his Bachelor of Science in Math/Management from Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, AL. He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. He completed his Transitional Internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He was the Undersea Medical Officer in Groton, Connecticut. He worked in Brachytherapy Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. He was Chief Resident, PGY-4 in Radiation Oncology at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, AL. He was also Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology at UAB Comprehensive Care Center, as well as Emergency Room Physician at HealthSouth Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. He has his State of Alabama Medical License (M.D.) and American Board of Radiology (Radiation Oncology.) He is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Tuscaloosa County Medical Society, DCH Institutional Review Board and Medical Association, State of Alabama.
Grant Williams, MD, MSPH - Medical Oncologist/Geriatrician
Dr. Williams, a medical oncologist and geriatrician, comes to the Manderson Cancer Center from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB where he served as an associate professor of Hematology/Oncology. He is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and geriatric medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Williams completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in geriatrics and hematology/oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his undergraduate degree in neuroscience at Tulane University in New Orleans, and his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.
