Congratulations to our latest BEE Award Winner: Tamila Whetstone

Congratulations to our latest BEE Award Winner: Tamila Whetstone

Congratulations to our latest BEE Award Winner, Tamila Whetstone, DCH's Breast Cancer Navigator.

Here is Tamala's nomination, written by a fellow DCH caregiver:

"Anytime I have encountered Tamila throughout the hospital she is so outgoing, greeting everyone with a smile and eager to help patients find their way. In early December, Tamila came over to Employee Health and was sitting in the waiting room. Two people walked in and before anyone in the office could get up, Tamila jumped into action. She began talking to the guests and found they were actually here for a cardiology appointment. Tamila stopped what she was doing and escorted them to the 4th floor to the office. I was so impressed. Tamila was in Employee Health for a personal reason and she took the needs of our guests above hers. At this point, she was determined to help and insisted she accommodate them upstairs. When she returned, I told her that was so sweet of her and definitely above and beyond. Her response “Well, they are our customers and they deserve to be taken care of.”

Tamila deserves to be acknowledged for her positive, caring and outstanding attitude. She has a heart for others and puts our customers first."

We agree!  Tamila is a shining example of the heart of a DCH caregiver!  Thank you Tamila, and congratulations!

BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.

BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.

Clear display boxes, which include printed nomination forms, are located throughout DCH hospitals for both the BEE Award and The DAISY Award. Click here to use the electronic forms.
