Congrats to DCH's Latest DAISY Award Winner: Cindy Wilson

We're excited to announce our latest Daisy Award Winner, Cindy Wilson from our Total Joint Unit at Northport Medical Center.  Here is Cindy's nomination, written by the wife of a patient:

I would like to nominate Cindy Wilson for the Daisy award for her exceptional display of compassion, care and professionalism. She consistently went above and beyond her duties to ensure that both patients and their caregivers are informed, valued and respected throughout their care journey.

Cindy made a concerted effort to explain the procedure in detail, answering any questions and addressing concerns in a way that made both the patient and caregiver feel heard and reassured. She took the time to acknowledge my husband’s fears and offered compassionate support, all while maintaining a friendly and respectful demeanor.

Her thorough knowledge of the procedure and her ability to communicate it with clarity helped to reduce anxiety and created a sense of trust. My husband and I felt not only cared for, but truly valued during our time in her care. Her empathy and dedication to ensuring the comfort and well-being of others truly exemplifies the qualities this award seeks to honor.

Cindy Wilson is a remarkable nurse whose commitment to compassionate care is evident in every interaction. She has a made a lasting impact on my husband and myself. I believe she is more than deserving of this prestigious recognition.
