Congratulations to Kailey Dever (Speech Pathology), DCH's latest BEE Award Winner.
Here is Kailey's nomination, written by a patient (paraphrased for patient confidentiality):
"I was a patient at Northport Rehab and am so grateful for the outstanding therapy I received that brought me healing, progress and success! The therapists in PT, OT, and speech were all exceptional and shared the highest level of care and skill.
Kaylie was an exceptional therapist with a talent for building rapport and a positive relationship with me, my spouse and our family. She was highly skilled at creating a warm and welcoming treatment environment with activities that were tailored to my specific needs and interests. Kaylie seems to have a deep understanding of speech and language disorders and a passion for helping me reach my full potential. I was consistently impressed by her dedication, patience, enthusiasm, and her cooperation with the other therapists. She offered us feedback and education on my progress and collaborated with the other therapists on my total therapy plan. She even gave me the opportunity to work with her on weekends when I most needed it. Kaylie seemed to have an exceptional understanding of the unique needs of her patients, and she went above and beyond to ensure that I received the support and guidance I needed to succeed. She was creative in her work with me, and she was able to find ways to make the learning engaging and enjoyable for me. She was highly effective at facilitating my communication progress and improving my overall quality of life."
Thanks Kailey for exemplifying the heart of a DCH caregiver... and congratulations!
BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.
