DCH Announces Pastoral Care Services Director

DCH is proud to announce Robb Small has been named as full-time Director of Pastoral Care Services. Small will lead the team of chaplains who passionately provide spiritual support and care to DCH patients, caregivers and visitors who may be in the most distressing and challenging moments of their lives.

Small has served as a Clinical Staff Chaplain at DCH for more than 10 years. During this time, he supervised the volunteer chaplain program. Before coming to DCH, Small served in the same role at Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. There, he served as part of the hospital’s palliative care team and mental health ministry. Before that he was the Director of Pastoral Care in Ft. Payne.

Small earned degrees from Loyola University-Chicago, Columbia Theological Seminary, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Montevallo. Small Founded the Alabama Chaplains Association and the DeKalb Interfaith Free Medical Clinic. He is a board-certified chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Small has served as interim pastoral care director since August 2024.
