DAISY Award Goes to Hannah Balsmeyer

DAISY Award Goes to Hannah Balsmeyer

Congratulations to Hannah Balsmeyer, RN, the latest recipient of the DAISY Award. Hannah works on our Labor & Delivery unit at DCH Regional Medical Center.

She was nominated by her co-workers.

“There is one nurse in particular who always goes above and beyond her duty as an RN for the mothers, infants and their families on the Labor and Delivery unit here at RMC,” her co-workers wrote in her nomination. “Hannah Balsmeyer is the definition of a DAISY. The amount of care, compassion and time she commits to her role as a nurse never ceases to amaze us. She is truly extraordinary.”

“Hannah truly has a heart of gold. I just want her to know how thankful we are as a unit for her caring and compassionate heart. I know she is making a difference in patient's lives but I want her to know she also makes a difference in her coworker's lives also. Thank you for going the extra mile. Thank you for being so thoughtful and most of all, KIND. It truly makes all the difference in the world.”

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is an international program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence nurses bring to their patients every day. The program is now in 4,300 health care facilities across 26 countries.
