DCH Enhances Health Science Education at Hale County College & Career Academy

DCH continues to demonstrate its commitment to community improvement through a recent donation aimed at supporting educational opportunities at Hale County College & Career Academy. In a collaborative effort to support the academy’s Health Science program, DCH has generously provided hospital beds and infant nursery cribs, significantly enhancing the learning environment for students pursuing careers in health care.

Donny Jones, COO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and Executive Director of West Alabama Works, highlighted the impact of this partnership on local education: "Our ongoing partnership with DCH is enriching the learning experience of the students in West Alabama by integrating industry practices into the classroom. This generous donation will provide students with hands-on training using the tools employed in the local industry."

Marlon B. Murray, Ed.D., Director of Hale County College & Career Academy, expressed gratitude for DCH's support: "The Hale County College & Career Academy is appreciative of the partnership with DCH. DCH donated several hospital beds and infant nursery cribs for the Health Science (HOSA) program. The newly modernized hospital beds will enhance the bedside skills, patient mobility training, and body mechanics of the students enrolled in the Patient Care Technician (PCT) class. Lastly, this is just one of many ways DCH gives back to the surrounding communities."

The donation of hospital beds and cribs marks a significant step towards enhancing the educational experience of students in the Patient Care Technician (PCT) class. These resources will empower students with practical, hands-on training that mirrors real-world health care settings, thereby preparing them for successful careers in the healthcare industry.

Through initiatives like this, DCH remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for learning and growth within the communities it serves, ensuring a brighter tomorrow for aspiring health care professionals in West Alabama.
