DCH Welcomes New Director of Oncology Services

Mark Bassett, Ph.D., has joined the DCH Health System as the director of Oncology Services. Bassett has 20-plus years of leadership experience in the oncology field and most recently served as the director of Oncology for Frederick Health in Frederick, Maryland. While there, he successfully developed comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer treatment pathways and a state-of-the-art precision medicine program.

“We are excited to have Mark join us,” said Mallary Myers, Chief Operating Officer for DCH. “His experience will be invaluable to our efforts to grow and expand our oncology services to the people of West Alabama.”

Bassett holds multiple degrees from The University of Alabama, Winona State University and LaSalle University. In addition, he has more than 15 years of experience teaching graduate courses in economics, administration, sociology, strategic planning and marketing. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, playing guitar and golfing.
