Fayette Medical Center has been recognized in Newsweek’s Best In-State Hospitals. Fayette Medical Center is one of 11 hospitals in Alabama, and more than 600 nationwide, to make the list this year. This is the fifth year in a row the hospital has ranked in one of Newsweek’s “best hospitals” lists.
Newsweek, in partnership with Statista Inc., released its 2024 America's Best In-State Hospitals rankings this week, and Fayette Medical Center was ranked No. 2 out of the 11 Alabama hospitals named, ranking just behind UAB. In addition, Fayette Medical Center was one of four of the 11 Alabama hospitals to receive the “Patient Satisfaction Award.”
“This is outstanding recognition of everything our staff works to accomplish as a team,” said Donald Jones, Fayette Medical Center Administrator. “I am proud to work with some of the most dedicated caregivers I’ve ever known.”
Hospitals included in this year’s list were evaluated on four areas: recommendation from peers, patient experience, hospital quality metrics and implementation of a survey to help patients report on outcomes relating to their health.
“Healthcare is about a sacred trust, and that trust is earned with every patient, every day,” said Katrina Keefer, president and CEO of the DCH Health System. “We are honored to again earn this recognition because it exemplifies our commitment to our community.”
Fayette Medical Center, located in Fayette County, has been part of the DCH Health System since 1984 and includes 61 licensed hospital beds and 122 long-term care beds. The hospital hosts a number of specialty clinics on a regular basis, including cancer and urology. Additionally, the hospital offers full-service diagnostic imaging, ICU, swing-bed rehab, a wide range of surgical services and a family medicine clinic.
