Increased PUIs Again

In today’s report you will see another increase in PUIs. As previously stated, a few residents at Fayette Medical Center’s Long Term Care (LTC) facility began showing symptoms of COVID-19 late last week. DCH decided to not only test those showing signs, but took the extra precaution of testing all the residents as well as any caregivers or other staff who work at the facility.

Because residents of an LTC are in a high-risk population, weekly follow up testing will occur until 14 days after the last positive result. This accounts for much of today’s increase as the residents are again being tested. A similar effort will occur next week as well.
