Pharmacy Careers
Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy Technicians assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing
health care and medications to patients. Through experience and dedication
to their responsibilities, Pharmacy Technicians can gain a broad knowledge
of pharmacy practice, and be skilled in techniques required to order,
stock, package, compound, and otherwise prepare medications. Under the
supervision of a pharmacist, they are vital to the operations of patient
care delivery as it relates to medications. Pharmacy Technicians sometimes
assume responsibilities and gain experience in areas relating to technology
and informatics, sterile product preparation, inventory management, and
patient assistance programs.

Pharmacist
Though the primary responsibility of Pharmacists is to dispense drugs prescribed
by physicians and other health practitioners, they are becoming more and
more involved in drug therapy decision making and patient counseling.
Aside from patient advice, Pharmacists play a role in the education of
all health care practitioners on the selection, dosages, and side effects
of medications. A relevant degree is required.
