These records include things like symptoms and medical history, examinations,
test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans. The Registered Health Information
Administrator ensures all required information recorded by RHIAs may also
be used to improve patient care, assist in survey and research projects
and help control costs. This credential requires a bachelor's degree and
successful performance on the RHIA certification exam.

Working with records kept by the Registered Health Information Administrators,
Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT) help to improve patient
care. RHITs review patient records and assign numeric codes, which are
then used by special computer programs to determine insurance reimbursement.
An RHIT credential requires an associate's degree and successful performance
on the RHIT certification exam.
