The strength of a community depends on its sustaining foundations. Throughout the past 80 years, in times of need one deeply rooted principle has characterized the people of West Alabama: challenges are met with compassion & commitment.

The DCH Foundation, Inc. was established in 1973 in the same spirit of dedication to our community’s well-being that led to the opening of Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Ala. 50 years earlier. The community hospital grew into a regional medical center and then into one of the state’s leading hospital systems.

Because the DCH Health System belongs to the citizens of West Alabama, it’s our responsibility to make sure it has additional financial resources, above its normal operating budget, to provide the best possible health care to the people of West Alabama.

It is the DCH Foundation’s hope that you will find a way, consistent with your own financial resources, to demonstrate the unselfish spirit and compassion that has always been the foundation of the West Alabama community.
